A chance to explore (or discover) your creativity, immerse yourself in learning about how to observe light, see how it influences your backdrops  and even more importantly, your photography

A warm welcome awaits you here in Toria’s studio on the farm for  a magical couple of days,  surrounded by the most beautiful flowers and shafts of Summer light.  On the first day we will all paint our own backdrops with Toria's guidance and relaxing exercises to make this an enjoyable and exciting process.  You will create something totally unique  and then begin the process of selecting flowers and accessories ready  to photograph the next day.

The very talented and inspiring photographer, Andrea Gilpin, will be joining us to lead the afternoon session on Day 2. Andrea will guide you towards creating images that suit your brand or particular style in a gentle and undemanding environment.  This course will suit all abilities and everyone is welcome.  There is always more to learn - even if you feel confident with your camera or are a complete beginner.  This will be a chance to explore and experiment with your ideas.

To capture your work in an engaging way is both rewarding and exciting. It also helps build your brand image.  Photography is a great way of expressing yourself and your business, but it can be so frustrating when you can’t capture what is in your is at hand!

Toria will demonstrate her approach to painting backdrops and encourage you to see and bring the light into your paintings. The juxtaposition of colours and how they work to enhance or distract the eye is so important in your composition.   We will explore the use of colour and how it will help with your floral designs as well as your backdrops.  You will be painting two backdrops on the first day ready for staging your still life on Tuesday.

Day Two is about setting up your still life against your newly painted backdrop and creating and styling a tablescape ready for the afternoon photography session with Andrea.  This workshop is not just for flower growers or florists - it would work for anyone who would like learn about creating beautiful backdrops and imagery.

There are lots more details that I can share with you about this course,  please email me  and I will send you the full description of this fabulous new workshop that Wendy and I have created.

All materials, flowers and refreshments are included in the cost and you will go home with your canvases (yes, two!)  your flower creation including the container and a carefully curated goody bag.
